President of Ramayana Centre’s Enriching Visit to India: April – May 2025

​The President of the Ramayana Centre undertook a personal visit to India from 9 April to 8 May 2025. While the visit was self-funded and rooted in personal reasons, it also provided a valuable opportunity to represent the Ramayana Centre across a range of prestigious cultural, academic, and diplomatic forums.
The President’s visit was a significant milestone for the Ramayana Centre, strengthening ties with Indian institutions, scholars, and cultural bodies. It served to reaffirm the deep spiritual and cultural relationship between Mauritius and India.

Scholarly & Cultural Engagements
17 April 2025 | Lucknow

At the invitation of the Lok Sanskriti Shodh Sansthan (Folk Culture Research Institute) Lucknow, UP, India, the President participated as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker in a seminar titled “The Global Context of Ram Katha and Mauritius”.

Held at the UP Press Club, the event featured distinguished scholars including Prof. Suryaprasad Dixit, Padma Shri Dr. Vidya Bindu Singh, Dr. Ram Bahadur Mishra, and others.

The President was honoured with the Pravasi Bhartiya Lok Sanskriti Samman for her contributions.

The President delivered the keynote lecture at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) on the theme “Ram Rajya in Today’s Social Context”.Hon’ble Justice Sudhir Narayan Agrawal presided as Chief Guest.

​2 May 2025 | New Delhi

At India Habitat Centre, the President addressed the Ramcharitmanas Conclave organized by Friends of Books. The theme was “Timeless Wisdom from Ramcharitmanas”.


She served as Chief Guest, with Dr. Shikha Darbari, Former Chief Income Tax Commissioner, India, as Guest of Honour.

​3 May 2025 | New Delhi

The President participated in the “Diaspora Dialogue”, hosted jointly by the Antar Rashtriya Sahayoga Parishad and Vaishwik Hindi Parivar (International Council for Cooperation and Global Hindi Family at Pravasi Bhavan.

Meetings with Key Dignitaries
23 April 2025 | Lucknow

The President was warmly received by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, for a 20-minute meeting at his official residence.
They discussed the Ramayana Centre’s initiatives and its upcoming Silver Jubilee celebrations. She presented him with her authored books; he gifted her a crystal idol of Lord Ram.

6 May 2025 | New Delhi

The President met Mrs. K. Nandini Singla, Director General of ICCR, at Azad Bhavan, New Delhi to discuss the proposed International Ramayana Conference 2026, and potential collaborations with India.
